Is Your Marriage Destined To Fail?

By Mark Power

How can we certain that our marriage will actually survive or if it will fail? I want to share with you one thing that will guarantee that it will in fact fail. Do you think that you know what it is? I'll give you one guess...

If you picked conflict or fighting then I am truly sorry but I am going to have to tell you that you are WRONG

Some people may not believe this but it is actually the opposite of that. In fact there are studies that show how avoiding conflict is the number determining factor whether you are destined for divorce or not. Ironic isn't it? We really think that we are saving our marriage by avoiding conflict but truth be told we are doing the complete opposite and destroying it

I really hope that you did not take that the wrong way. I am not saying that you should stop reading this and go hunt down your spouse and start a brawl. Let's face it fighting doesn't make for happy marriage either. But I am saying that if you have a healthy marriage then you probably fight. Having disputes is actually a good sign that you are still in love with one another. To be happily married you need to learn how to fight well.

Successful couples have mastered the art of discussing their differences. This is not something that comes natural to most people, you need to learn this skill. But once you have learned this then your fights will actually propel your marriage forward.

Now you can agree or disagree with me here but every successful couple fights because whether we like it or not no to people are perfectly compatible. Keep in mind though, having your difference is very healthy.

You do not have to hunt for the right person in order to succeed in marriage. Instead you need to learn how to have healthy fights with the spouse you already have. Because you are sure to have disputes and differences with anyone you pick. The real question is, can you learn how to discuss or fight through your difference in a healthy manner?
